41 Action News

Komen Kansas City is proud to partner with 41 Action News to educate our community about the importance of early detection in finding breast cancer. In summer 2011, 41 Action News Weekend Anchor and Health Reporter Cynthia Newsome was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her co-workers rallied around her and even formed "Team Cynthia Newsome" for the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure. Through events like a KSHB employee bake sale and viewers hosted garage sale, Team Cynthia Newsome raised over $3,000 for the cause.

Cynthia returned to the news desk on January 1st. In February, she finished up her treatment plan. Cynthia shares diagnosis and treatment process with others in hopes they will be advocates for their health.

In May, we hope you will join us on Saturday, May 5th at the Overland Park Convention Center for the 2012 Pink Promise Brunch. This half-day event celebrates life and women's health. 41 Action News Evening Anchor Christa Dubill will emcee this year event with a special presentation by Cynthia Newsome.
