Participating in the Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Affiliate Race for the Cure® with a team multiplies the fun, the laughter and maybe even the tears that you share on Race Day. Rally around someone you know who was just diagnosed, someone who has fought the battle, or someone who may have lost the battle. Together, with your friends, family and co-workers, you make an even greater impact than you could alone.

The Deadline to register a team has passed.  You may still walk as a group, but you will need to register as an individual.  Please click here to get started.

Fundraising is Easy with Online Tools!

When you register for the Race you automatically receive your own fundraising web site. Teams receive an additional Team fundraising page. Your Team page is a website that friends and family can visit to find a team member or give a donation that supports the fundraising efforts of the entire team. Personalize your Race fundraising website. Use it to tell friends and family why you participate in the Race for the Cure. You can even accept donations online, right from your fundraising website. To make your page more dynamic, upload a link to a video clip or activate the blog feature. All of this and more is waiting for your Team once you register for the Race! Team fundraising for the Race is easy with online tools!

Team Captains have the ability to customize the Team website with a team photo and story.

What is a Team?
•A team is any group of 10 people or more who want to participate in the Race as a group.
•This group may consist of friends, family, co-workers, church and civic groups, schools, children or any combination thereof.
•Team members do not have to participate in the same event.
•A team can have participants in the same event or a combination of events (5K, 10K, 1 mile, sleep in, etc.).
•There is no limit to the number of members you can have on your team.
•Being part of a team is fun!

How do I organize a team?
•Create a team online.
•Visit the Race for the Cure REGISTRATION PAGE.
•Once your team is created recruit team members, encourage your team members to fundraise, compete in the team competitions and have a great time at the Race.

Team Registration Payments (or Paid Corporate Teams):
Companies wishing to pay for all or a portion of their employees' team registration fees will need to obtain a team code prior to team members registering as part of the team. To request a team code, email us at teams@komenkansascity.org.

Team Deadlines & Dates:
July 16, Last day to mail in team registrations
July 25, (by 6:00 p.m. C.S.T.) Last day to complete on-line team registrations
July 29-30, Large Team t-shirt delivery (for teams of 75 members or more)
August 3, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm Team t-shirt pick up
August 3, Team t-shirt contest, bring your Team t-shirt to Ameristar Casino or the Affiliate Office
August 8, Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure®

Team T-Shirt Contest:
Design a t-shirt to show your team spirit! If you have a special t-shirt that your team will wear for the race, please bring us an example to the Team Pick-up on August 3rd at Ameristar Casino or to the Komen Affiliate office located at 1111 Main, Suite 450, Kansas City, MO 64105 for display on race day for our team t-shirt contest. The t-shirt that receives the most votes at the Race (in terms of the amount of money raised) will be our winner and honored on our web site. The t-shirt will not be returned. We ask that you please reserve the shirt color pink for our survivor participants.

Team Photos:
Team photos will be available on Race day. Be on the look out for the sign up for time and location. Photos will be taken by Action Sports.
