Q: When is the race?
A: Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Union Station in Kansas City, MO.

Q: What is the race route?

Q: Are strollers allowed at the race?
A: Strollers are permitted at the race.

Q: Are rollerblades, skateboards, bikes, Heelies allowed at the race?
A:
For the safety and insurance liability of all participants, the usage of inline skates, bikes, and Heelies are prohibited in the event. Thank you for your cooperation.


Q: May I bring my pet to the race?
A: We ask that you leave your pets at home out of courtesy to others.

Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: The fees are divided into race event categories and increase as we get closer to Race Day. Entry fees for Adult, untimed runners and/or walkers begi at $25. For a full list of prices see the official 2013 Race Brochure.

Q: What time is the race?
A: Race Day Registration begins at 6A. The 5K Competitive Run starts at 730A, the 5K Non-Competitive begins at 745A and the 1-Mile Fun Walk starts at 8A. 

Q: Where is the race?
A: The Race is located at Union Station 30 West Pershing Road in Kansas City, MO.

Q: What is the distance of the race?
A: You may participate as a runner or a walker in the 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) or the 1-Mile Walk that will begin after the 5K Race/Walk.

Q: Is the race certified?
A: The race is USATF Certified (5K race course). 

Q: What happens if it rains on race day?
A: The Race for the Cure occurs rain or shine. However, we reserve the right to cancel the Race for the Cure in extreme circumstances. If the Race for the Cure is cancelled, no refunds will be issued. Instead, your entry fee, donations and pledges will be used as a donation to the Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure.

Q: When does registration end?
A: The latest you can register is on Race Day by 7 a.m. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

Q: Where does my money go?
A: Up to 75% of the proceeds from the Race stay here in the Kansas City area.  The money you raise & donate to support the Komen Kansas City Race for the Cure is tax-deductible, the cancelled check or credit card serves as a receipt for the donor.

Q: How can friends and family make an online donation?
A: You can make an online donation by clicking here. You may also bring donations to the registration tent on Race day or mail them to Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Race for the Cure, 1111 Main Street, Suite 450, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Q: Do I have to fundraise?
A: You do not have to fundraise, although every dollar earned makes an impact. If every Race participant raised an average of $218 over the registration fee ($218 is the cost of a clinical breast exam and digital screening mammogram), the Komen Greater Kansas City Affiliate would raise an additional $4 million.  Together, we can save lives! Q: Can I volunteer for the race?
A: Yes! Volunteers play a vital role in the Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Race for the Cure. Click here for more information on volunteering!

Q: Is there anywhere to store my belongings if I am volunteering?
A:
Please do not bring anything of value there is no secure place to put your belongings.


Q: How do I form a team?
A:
If you haven't registered for the Race yet, you can click here to register online and select "Start a Team" or "Join a Team." Search for the name of the team you want to join and select it. If you are already registered for the Race as an individual, you need to contact the Race Teams chairman if you want to form or join a team.


Q: Is it required to form a team?
A: No, you can register as either a Non-Competitive or Competitive runner or walker.

Q: How many people make a team?
A: A team is any group of 10 people or more who want to participate in the Race as a group. There is no limit to the number of members you can have on your team.

Q: When is the Survivor Photo?
A: The Survivor parade and photo will be at 930A after the Race.

Q: What is Sleep In for the Cure and Pink in the Pew?
A: 
Out of town on Race Day? Work nights? Attending religious services? Or just want to “Sleep In” on a Sunday morning? Sleep In for the Cure® and Pink in the Pew are the perfect way to show your support for the Race and the fight against breast cancer.

Q: Are hotel discounts available?
A: A block of rooms has been reserved for the 2013 Race for the Cure at the Westin Crown Center for $121 per night (plus tax).
