Kansas City “Pink Taxi” Fleet Set to Begin Service

Earlier this year, Checker Cab of KC introduced its first “Pink Taxi”. Now after several successful months benefiting Susan G. Komen with the first car, the “Pink Taxi” Fleet will become available. Four additional pink cars will be offered for special charter with a minimum $50 of the fare going to Komen.

The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is also participating with a “Pink Partner” program and will have cars available at numerous special events throughout the year. It is anticipated that the cars will also be very popular for special events such as nights on the town, girls night out, concerts and anniversaries. Checker will operate the taxis beginning November 13th and their presence will promote Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the entire year. 

The distinctive taxis, all with female drivers, have been licensed to serve the Metro area and are now available with an advance reservation.  A special phone line 913-999-9009 will serve “Pink Taxi” Charter callers. Information is also available at www.cabsforthecure.com.

In October, during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Checker was the only Kansas City fleet to participate in the Taxi, Limousine and ParaTransit Association’s “Pink Ride” program.  More information regarding that program can be found at: www.CheckerKC.com
