Give the Gift Screening for a Chance to Win a Trip

Dear Friends,
This month our phones are ringing non-stop.  People call Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Kansas City because they know that we can help.  We connect women to breast health services in our 17 county service area every day. For some of the most vulnerable women in our community Komen Kansas City grant dollars provide access to potentially life-saving screening services.    

At Komen Kansas City, our commitment is to give each woman in our service area the best chance to beat this disease. You can help us do that.

Regular screenings like clinical breast exams and mammograms help find breast cancer early, when it is the most treatable. When breast cancer is caught before it spreads beyond the breast, the five year survival rate is 99%.

In honor of National Mammogram Day (October 19th), we challenge our supporters to help the women of your community by partnering with us to provide services such as one critical screening a day through the end of this year. The cost of a clinical breast exam and digital mammogram in the Kansas City area is $218. Our goal is to raise $16,132– which is enough to screen 74 women, one screening for every day left in 2012.
