All-Star Game Fundraiser Winners Announced

The Greater Kansas City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure hosted a special fundraiser related to the All-Star Game taking place in Kansas City. The first 160 people who donated $160 to our special fundraising page before July 4th had their names entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three prizes: 1st Place - two tickets for the Kansas City All-Star Game, 2nd Place - two tickets for the Home Run Derby, and 3rd Place - two tickets for the All-Star Sunday Celebrity Softball Tournament.

Why $160 dollars? This is the average cost for a clinical breast exam and a mammogram in Kansas City. Donations from the fundraiser will be used to provide someone here in the greater Kansas City area with potentially life saving screening through our community grants program.

A drawing was held on Thursday, July 5th to determine the winners. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated.

• All-Star Game Winner - Terressa Yeager, a 1 and 1/2 year breast cancer survivor
• Home Run Derby Winner - Jerilee Hendrich, a 18 year breast cancer survivor
• All-Star Sunday Celebrity Softball Tournament Winner - Tammy Privitera 

Komen Kansas City is proud to be one of three cancer charities benefiting from Major League Baseball's All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run presented by Nike on Sunday, July 8th in downtown Kansas City.
